Amman
Just thinking about Lebanon, Palestine and Iraq is exhausting and emotionally draining. So back to the local scene.
Driving through Swefieh this morning just made me think if we cannot manage a small part of Amman what hope do we have for the rest of the country? The new one way system could work quite well if anyone took notice of it. It is chaos with everyone driving merrily where they want and parking in the middle of the road. If the Municipality want to change the system they should mark all the roads correctly and think about enforcing it. I know the police cannot be everywhere but they could earn enough in Swefieh from the fines for traffic offences to help the Jordanian budget!
Now look at our wonderful planning department at the municipality allowing this ridiculous building to be built! T

part of this building once collapsed sometime last year...
but hey!why let something like that stop them...
They are complete and utter idiots.. I doubt they know anything at all about urban planning. Sweifieh although it is a nightmare, could very easily made more tolerable by taking simple steps e.g. (removing the illegal obsticals people place on the road in front of their shops, fixing pavements and making them more continuous instead of seperate, I think a small park or two in empty plots of land between all the buildings would make alot of difference, a multi level underground or even overground parking lot etc...)
Unfortunatly it seems almost hopeless with the bunch of idiots we've got managing sweifieh right now.
Where is that building exactly ?!
CheeerZ!
how do you explain where anything is in Amman!!!!? It is halfway on the up road that ends with the cafe of Chez Hilda if that is of any help!! T
I have traveled to Europe and the US, and down town everywhere is the same, don’t blame Swaifieh for being the same.
I think the answer in more organized public transportations and less sexy girls :)
