our capital - is this really the way forward?

I have just read HRH Prince Ali's article in the Jordan Times today about the Greater Amman Municipality's decision to tax owners of empty land. It is an excellent article with the sort of vision we expect our government to have. I hope the Mayor and others take note.

Could Prince Ali be made Mayor of Amman? I am sure he doesn't want the job as it is a huge headache but his views should be taken into consideration. T

I've found the prince's article interesting, I completely agree with what he said, but it's really strange that such complaints are made by a prince an not by a "normal" citizen...
(Another strange thing is that AlRai hasn't emphasized his article at all)

People always assume that royalty don't really know what's going on with their people, that they can't relate because of their big fancy cars, palaces and vacation in Europe.

This article proves once again how in touch our royal family is with its people and that they do care.

I hope our Mayor read that article and for once think about the majority of the population that is not up to speed with his plans. yes we do want to progress but not at the expense of most Jordanians. He should make this country a haven for Jordanians first, not investors.
