Abdoun suspension bridge

I have been trying to google suspension bridges which have a curved road but cannot find any. Is there anyone who can explain to me why the Abdoun bridge is curved and not straight! T

I'm not an architect but I think it's curved so if it fall down for reason or another only small part will fall as the other curves are relaying on different pillars.

Well, that is encouraging!!! Designing bridges on a curve so only parts fall down when there is a problem! I just hope they are not experimenting a new bridge design on us. T

I am not sure about this either but,its curvature and slight upward tilt allows the car more downwards pressure with speed creating more friction and stability. but i could be way off

I think the reason is simply that the road conecting it to abdoun circle is a bit to the west of the road connecting 4th circle with the bridge so it has to curve (otherwise they will have to demolish some buildings to connect the two sides in a straight line).

Thank you Linda. I did have a look and also read about all the problems they had. Hopefully ours will be just fine! T
