of Weddings and Earthquakes

That was a wedding that was - my first of four yet to come. The most unique part of this wonderful week was the overwhelming power of human kindness and joy, wrapped up in a little bundle called love. So to celebrate, we all went down to the Dead Sea; all fifty of us from three different continents that spanned the world. A true force for peace ...

And then mother nature decided to intervene and have her say.
Earthquake alert, with a 4.5 on the richter scale and we found ourselves evacuated to the car park from the swimming pool.

After about half an hour the all clear was given so we proceeded back to the swimming pool where a neat little wind was gaining a powerful force

.... then torrential rains that threatened to ruin my new camera ....

But by sunset, all was calm, at least on the eastern front ... and we sat and marvelled at the creation of nature in all its wonderful glory .... J

I wanna attend an Arabic extravagant wedding! I have this urge to be in a suit and dance till the break of dawn! Listening to Arabic tunes ..
I just want to be one of the people there.. and then go home ..

I'll sure check Kempinski when I visit Jordan.

Kempinski?!?! Neyyalkom! I adore that pool! and the lazy river! :)

Is it still swimmable down there in the dead sea? How was the weather? warm enough to swim? do they heat the pools?

and congratulations :)

Qwaider ... I'll put you on the list for the next wedding ...can't promise the extravagant bit though ...

Thanks Observer, and yes the pool is heated, and wonderful to swim in even when it rained. Despite the weird weather at the Dead Sea at the moment that ranged from bright sunshine to torrential rain all in the space of a few hours, it was great to be down there at this time of year and you can still swim in the sea! The weirdest thing was that all the restaurants had the a/c on full blast despite it being cold at night! J
