rubbish on the streets
While I am on the subject of the Amman Municipality - this is the rubbish bin outside my house - just been emptied. I do not have any quarrel with the amount of collections, they seem to be quite regular. But our streets seem to be getting worse and worse. It is bad enough having human scavengers and cats but the next thing will be the rat population coming out on the streets. What is the answer I wonder? T

The solution? Among other things:
1) Ammanis have to take responsibility for their own trash: don't just throw it toward the bin, put it IN the bin.
2) The municipality needs to fork over for some better bins. The one outside my house is so bashed up it can't even stand up straight, much less be emptied by a truck.
It may be an optical illusion but it is funny how that trash bin looks like it is sitting outside its designated slot and the coming car looks like it is heading straight into hitting it.
Absolutely right Rebecca rubbish should be put in the bin. Unfortunately the people who root round the bins for anything they want tend to throw everything out on the street as they are searching. The bin here lost its wheels two days ago as it was dropped so hard on the ground by the rubbish truck.
And yes, so many bins seem to end up in the middle of the road after they have been emptied. T
